Woodland Prescribed Burn

  • 15 Dec 2021
  • 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM
  • 5060 S. Blanding Rd, Hanover, IL

NOTE: conditions are currently not ideal for a burn, so that this may be delayed by a few weeks.  Check back here later for an update,  Members will receive notice when the date is firm.  The date posted is only a placeholder to keep this event on the calendar.

Here is a message from the landowner and sponsor of this burn: "Unfortunately, the Woodland Prescribed Burn Field Day scheduled for this Saturday, Nov. 13th, is being cancelled due to wet weather.  The Field Day will be rescheduled when weather and field conditions are suitable for a woodland prescribed burn.  Later this fall is still a possibility.  However, as fall progresses, it becomes less likely that we will have a series of warm, dry days that can dry out the leaf litter.  We may have to wait until next spring to reschedule this burn. Sooner or later, we will get this Field Day rescheduled and have a successful prescribed burn."

NIFA in conjunction with

  • the Woodland Wildlife Cooperative
  • the Jo Daviess Conservation Foundation
  • the NISC
